Our foundry workshops making “Haniwa custard pudding” mugs are a fun experience for kids.
“Haniwa custard pudding” in a Haniwa (clay figure) shaped mug is one of Sakai’s specialty sweets. We collaborated with Pasah Co.,Ltd. (Sakai, Osaka) and held a workshop to make miniature Haniwa mugs at an open factory event called “FactorISM” featuring local companies from the Yao and Sakai area. We used low melting point metals to safely allow our community to enjoy the experience of casting and were thrilled that children were able to enjoy a hands-on experience. We will continue to take advantage of opportunities like this to foster the next generation that will carry on our manufacturing industry.
